BDI customers and prospects are assigned an individual Account Manager and are introduced to those staff that will be their primary contacts for application development and support, as needed. Subsequently, our Customer Service department, along with key staff, is introduced to new clients and/or applications to ensure a broad awareness of new business applications and delivery requirements.

New business applications are supported by a Sales-to-Systems Design control system to ensure accuracy in development. Each customer is actively encouraged to participate in the development process and to communicate their needs and ideas.

Our customers are always encouraged to communicate openly and freely to Senior Management staff at BDI and are encouraged to do so.

BDI is one of the nation's largest providers of pre-printed statement and marketing stocks for credit unions and other institutions. Paper stocks and envelopes used for laser printing and mailing are printed by BDI and meet the exacting specifications for laser print and mail.

We maintain an in-house "demand-print" shop for the creation and printing of envelopes, laser print stocks, marketing letters, etc. In-house printing capabilities include 1 and 2-color press to 11" x 17" with additional bindery support for: cutting, stitching, perforation and die-cut.

Large volume printing for statement stocks and envelopes are provided through volume-discount purchasing with long-time partners within the trade printing industry. All BDI vendors are selected based on: production performance attributes, print quality and turnaround reliability. All of our vendor/partners are long-time suppliers and understand the critical performance requirements of all materials involved.

Our graphic support team exists to create, receive and modify design formats for pre-press staging, approvals and quality assurance. This staff supports designs for: statements, invoices, envelopes, disclosures and mail inserts including newsletters. Both MAC and PC files are accepted for optimum conversions and re-design ability.

Due to the exacting nature of document print and mail, BDI has developed a unique and exacting approach to handling quality control. It's actually a personal thing with us.

The Theory: Workflow "controls" for each customer are dependent on the exact processing steps required to generate the final output document for any particular customer … which often applies to only one single production cycle.

During production, each checkpoint or control point in the workflow is examined for facts related to that particular step before it is allowed to continue further through the work process. (Since document production requirements often change from one cycle to the next, we "pre-define the workflow" each time a job runs to ensure that all needed checkpoints are in place.)

In truth, quality control is an area of great pride and correct concern at BDI. There is little question that our work in this area has been a successful action and saved our customers time and money over the years. It is certainly one of the reasons that our customers remain for a long time. - Simply put, we care a great deal about doing a good job. Of course, it doesn't hurt to have a long-tenured staff, large job familiarity and a good workable system.

BDI warehouses customer production stocks and provides monthly inventory status reports upon customer request. Orders are controlled via a pre-scheduling system which alerts individual Account Managers and Customer Service to ensure that print orders are initiated for future production.

All BDI-printed materials are inventoried at no additional expense to our clients.
